Edith Wharton (lahir Edith Newbold Jones, 24 Januari 1862-11 Ogos 1937) ialah seorang novelis dan penulis cerita pendek Amerika. Tulisannya banyak membahas mengenai kehidupan masyarakat kelas atas di New York, Amerika Syarikat. Pada tahun 1921, salah satu karyanya yang berjudul The Age of Innocence dianugerahkan Anugerah Pulitzer dalam bidang Sastera.[1][2]

Kehidupan sunting

Edith Wharton dilahirkan dengan nama Edith Newbold Jones di New York, Amerika Syarikat pada 4 Januari 1862. Keluarganya merupakan salah satu keluarga dari masyarakat kelas atas. Pada tahun 1885, beliau berkahwin dengan Edward Wharton, salah seorang pegawai bank terkaya dari New York. Namun mereka kemudian bercerai pada tahun 1913.[1]
