Hail to the Chief

Hail to the Chief ialah lagu rasmi untuk Presiden Amerika Syarikat. Lagu ini hanya dimainkan apabila Presiden muncul di khalayak ramai. Lagu ini juga dimainkan semasa pengebumian bekas Presiden seperti di pengebumian Ronald Reagan. Lagu ini berada dalam domain awam.

Sejarah

Ayat-ayat dari Sir Walter Scott The Lady of the Lake, termasuk Hail to the Chief who in triumph advances! telah disetkan untuk muzik sekitar tahun 1812 oleh penulis lagu James Sanderson, sebuah otodidak pemain biola Inggeris dan konduktor Surrey Theatre, London, yang telah menghasilkan banyak lagu-lagu untuk produksi teater tempatan semasa tahun 1790-an dan tahun-tahun awal abad ke-19:

Soldier, rest! thy warfare o'er,
