Katgut
Katgut merupakan sejenis tali[1] yang diperbuat daripada gentian semula jadi yang terdapat pada kulit usus haiwan.[2] Biasanya yang digunakan ialah usus kambing atau biri-biri, tetapi juga kadang-kadang usus lembu,[3] babi, kuda, keldai, atau baghal.
Katgut lazim digunakan untuk membuat alat muzik bertali seperti hap, kecapi, violin, viola, selo dan gitar akustik. Tetapi kini katgut banyak memberikan laluan kepada bahan-bahan lain seperti keluli atau polimer buatan.

Catgut sutures are derived from the submucosal layer of the small intestine of sheep and the serosal layer of the small intestine of cattle.
