In case CHN qualifies at the Asian Qualification Competition, those Boat and Athlete Quota places will be allocated to TOGO in K1 Men and CANADA in C1 Men according to their result at the Global Qualification Competition. The IOC caps the total number of athletes in the slalom competition, which determines the minimum boat quota places listed above. However, an athlete may represent his NOC in more than one event, in which case an additional Athlete Quota Place becomes available. The additional entry is awarded to the next best ranked NOC at the corresponding Continental Qualification for the continent of the NOC that freed a quota place.
