Paus (Katolik): Perbezaan antara semakan

Istilah "paus" ini merupakan kata pinjaman [[bahasa Belanda]] daripada perkataan {{lang-el|πάππας}} ''pappas'', 'bapa' melalui istilah [[bahasa Latin]] iaitu ''papa''. Gelaran ''papa'' atau ''pappas'' ini pada awalnya digunakan semua uskup dan paderi kanan terutamanya di Timur ketika kurun-kurun awal [[agama Kristian]].
