Bario is located on the Kelabit Highlands, 3280 feet above sea level. It is the unofficial capital of the Kelabit Highlands. All roads lead to Bario. Due to geographical barrier, this wonderful place is isolated from the rest of the world. Tanah Tinggi Kelabit terselip di Timur laut Sarawak dan sangat berhampiran dengan sempadan antarabangsa antara Kalimantan dan Sarawak. Bario terletak di Tanah Tinggi Kelabit, 3280 kaki di atas paras air laut.Ianya juga menjadi pusat bandar tidak ramsi untuk Tanah Tinggi Kelabit. Semua jalan berhubung terus ke Bario.
