As you know I like to clean up in files and I have been visiting ms.wiki a few times. First time was about 10 years ago and again in the beginning of 2020. In that time ms.wiki decided to close for local uploads but there was no major cleanup in files.
In august [https://ms.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Perbincangan_pengguna:CyberTroopers&oldid=4879584#Deleting_files_with_no_license_etc. I created a category for unused files] and at that time there was 601 files. Today [[:Kategori:Files_without_a_license]] have 592 files. With that speed it will take like 10 years to empty the category and that is just one category.
Jimbo Wales [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Jimbo_Wales&diff=prev&oldid=23398569 made this edit] in 2005 where he made it clear that it is really important to clean up files. The reason is that bad files represent a legal risk to the project.
Ms.wiki have closed for local uploads. But there are still 20,889 files uploaded to ms.wiki. If checking the files is too big a job a possible solution is to delete all the files and focus on articles. It is easy to mass delete files so if that is what is decided it can be done without too much work.
