Pada 04 November 2020 ([[waktu Malaysia]]) selepas waktu mengundi telah ditutup pada jam 08:00, kiraan undi bermula dari jam 09:00 tetapi tiba-tiba berhenti pada kira-kira jam 14:00 dengan Donald Trump dapat jumlah undi yang paling tinggi.
 
Walaupun kiraan undian diteruskan selepas jam 19:00, tetapi satu-satunya kiraan undi yang menambah ialah undi untuk Joe Biden dari Parti Demokrat, untuk kiraan undi orang lain hanya berada di mana mereka dihenti sebelum jam 19:00 dan tidak pernah dinaikkan selepas itu selama beberapa hari.
