Kelab ini berasal dari [[English Methodist]] kongregasi bernama [[New Connexion]], yang telah membina gereja di [[Liverpool]] pada tahun 1868. Setahun kemudian, gereja tersebut membeli tanah di [[Breckfield Road North]], diantara [[St. Domingo Vale]] dan [[St. Domingo Grove]]. Tempat ini hampir dengan kawasan yang bernama Everton, yang telah diiktiraf sebagai sebahagian daripada bandar Liverpool pada [[1835]].
