Milano dilahirkan pada 19 Disember 1972, di Bensonhurst, Brooklyn,[1] anak perempuan pereka fesyen dan pengurus bakat Lin Milano dan penyunting muzik filem Thomas M. Milano.[2] Beliau dan abangnya, Cory,[3] yang berusia sedekad lebih muda,[4] ialah keturunan Itali.[5] Beliau dibesarkan dalam kepercayaan Roman Katolik.[6]
