Jeff Bridges

Jeffrey Leon Bridges (lahir 4 Disember 1949) merupakan seorang pelakon, penyanyi, penerbit, komposer Amerika Syarikat. Beliau datang dari keluarga yang menceburi bidang lakonan dan muncul dalam siri televisyen Sea Hunt (1958–60), bersama bapanya, Lloyd Bridges dan abangnya, Beau Bridges. Beliau memenangi Anugerah Akademi bagi Pelakon Lelaki Terbaik untuk peranannya sebagai Otis "Bad" Blake dalam filem 2009 Crazy Heart, dan menerima pencalonan Anugerah Akademi untuk peranannya dalam filem The Last Picture Show (1971), Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974), Starman (1984), The Contender (2000), True Grit (2010), dan Hell or High Water (2016). Kehidupan awal sunting

Bdliau dilahirkan sebagai Jeffrey Leon Bridges pada 4 Disember 1949, di Los Angeles, California. Beliau merupakan anak kepada pelakon veteran Lloyd Bridges (1913–1998)[1][2] dan pelakon dan penulis Dorothy Bridges (née Simpson; 1915–2009). Abang sulungnya ialah, Beau Bridges, juga seorang pelakon. Beliau mempunyai seorang adik perempuan bongsu, Lucinda, dan seorang lagi abangnya Garrett, yang meninggal dunia akibat sindrom mengejut pada 1948. Keluarganya sebelah bapanya ialah pendatang Inggeris dari Liverpool.[3]

Bridges dan adik-beradiknya dibesarkan di Holmby Hills, Los Angeles.[4] Membesar, Bridges mempunyai hubingan erat dengan abangnya Beau, yang menjadi bapa tumpang apabila bapa mereka bekerja.[5] Beliau tamat belajar di University High School pada 1967. Pada usia 17 tahun, Jeff menjelajah bersama bapanya di pementasan Broadway Anniversary Waltz. Bridges berkahwin dengan Susan Geston pada 1977.[7][8][9][10][11] Mereka bertemu semasa terlibat dalam Rancho Deluxe, di parit yang mana Geston bekerja sebagai pelayan.[12][13][14][15] Mereka mempunyai tiga anak perempuan: Isabelle Annie (lahir 6 Ogos 1981), Jessica Lily "Jessie" (lahir 14 Jun 1983), Hayley Roselouise (lahir 17 Oktober 1985),[16][17] dan seorang cucu Grace (lahir 31 Mac 2011) from Isabelle.

Bridges telah mempelajari Buddhisme. Beliau telah bermeditasi selama setengah jam sebelum berada di set penggambaran.[18] Beliau telah mempelajari Meditasi Transcendential.[19]

Usaha kemanusiaan sunting

Pada tahun 1984, Bridges dan pemimpin industri hiburan lain mengasaskan End Hunger Network yang bertujuan untuk menggalakkan, merangsang dan menyokong tindakan untuk menamatkan kebuluran kanak-kanak.[20] Beliau menyokong inisiatif Presiden Obama untuk End Childhood Hunger menjelang 2015. Pada November 2010, Bridges jurucakap untuk kempen No Kid Hungry untuk pertubuhan Share our Strength.[21] Matlamatnya adalah untuk membentangkan dan melaksanakan strategi negara-negara untuk mengakhiri kebuluran kanak-kanak di Amerika Syarikat menjelang 2015.[22] Bridges juga menyokong aktiviti alam sekitar dan pertubuhan seperti Amazon Conservation Team.[23][24]
