Paul Samuelson

Ahli ekonomi Amerika Syarikat

Paul Anthony Samuelson (15 Mei 1915 - 13 Disember 2009) ialah seorang ahli ekonomi Amerika dan rakyat Amerika pertama yang memenangi Hadiah Peringatan Nobel dalam Sains Ekonomi. Akademi Diraja Sweden menyatakan, ketika memberi hadiah pada tahun 1970, bahawa dia "telah melakukan lebih daripada mana-mana ahli ekonomi kontemporer lain untuk menaikkan tahap analisis saintifik dalam teori ekonomi".[1] Ahli sejarah ekonomi Randall E. Parker memanggilnya "Bapa Ekonomi Moden",[2] dan The New York Times menganggap beliau sebagai "ahli ekonomi akademik utama abad ke-20".[3]
