Pertubuhan Buruh Antarabangsa

Pertubuhan Buruh Antarabangsa (ILO) merupakan sebuah agensi khusus Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu yang menangani isu-isu buruh.[1] Organisasi ini ditubuhkan pada 1919 melalui Persetiaan Versailles dan sebagai organ Liga Bangsa-bangsa. Selepas PBB ditubuhkan, ILO telah menjadi agensi pertubuhan tersebut.[2]

Seperti dinyatakan oleh ketua pengarahnya, "matlamat utama ILO adalah untuk menggalakkan peluang bagi wanita dan lelaki mendapat pekerjaan yang memuaskan dan berhasil, dengan keadaan bebas, adil, selamat dan bermaruah." Kerja ILO dibahagikan kepada empat sektor, iaitu (1) piawaian dan prinsip asas dan hak dalam pekerjaan, (2) pekerjaan, (3) perlindungan sosial dan (4) dialog sosial.[3][4][5]
