Amy Madigan

Amy Marie Madigan[1] (lahir 11 September 1950) merupakan seorang pelakon, penerbit dan penyanyi wanita Amerika Syarikat. Beliau dikenali sebagai pelakon dalam filem Love Child (1982), Places in the Heart (1984), Twice in a Lifetime (1985), Field of Dreams (1989), Uncle Buck (1989), The Dark Half (1993), Pollock (2000), and Gone Baby Gone (2007)

Amy Madigan dilahirkan di Chicago. Bapanya, John J. Madigan (1918–2012), ialah seorang wartawan terkenal yang bekerja untuk majalah Newsweek dan memberikan komen politik dalam rancangan seperti Meet the Press dan Face the Nation. John J. Madigan mewawancarai sejumlah tokoh politik, bermulamdari Richard Nixon sehingga Martin Luther King Jr., dan menjadi pengacara dengan WBBM (AM).[2] Ibunya ialah Dolores Hanlon (1921–1992), seorang pembantu pentadbiran dan pelakon amatur yang muncul dalam teater.[3] Beliau memiliki dua adik-beradik, Jack dan Jim.[3]

Beliau mendapat pendidikan di Aquinas Dominican High School di Chicago dan aktif dalam drama sekolah. Pada tahun 1960-an, belau belajar piano di Chicago Conservatory of Music dan lulus dari Universiti Marquette dengan ijazah dalam bidang falsafah.[4] Beliau berpindah ke Los Angeles pada 1974.[5] Beliau kemudian mempelajari seni lakonan di Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.[6]
