Peter Minuit

Peter Minuit, Pierre Minuit atau Peter Minnewit (1589 – 5 Ogos, 1638) merupakan seorang Walloon daripada Wesel, kini terletak di North Rhine-Westphalia, Jerman, kemudian merupakan sebahagian daripada Duchy of Cleves. Beliau merupakan Ketua Pengarah bagi sebuah koloni Belanda iaitu Belanda Baru bermula pada tahun 1626 sehingga 1633 dan pengasas koloni Sweden iaitu Sweden Baru pada tahun 1638. Berdasarkan tradisi, beliau telah membeli pulau Manhattan daripada penduduk asli Amerika pada 24 Mei, 1626.
