Fran Drescher

Francine Joy Drescher (lahir 30 September 1957) merupakan pelakon filem, televisyen, pelawak dan aktivis Amerika Syarikat. Beliau terkenal kerana suaranya yang unik dan lakonannya menerusi sitkom The Nanny.

Beliau dilahirkan di Flushing, Queens, New York dalam keluarga Yahudi Eropah Timur (moyangnya dilahirkan di Focsani, Romania)[1] Beliau dibesarkan di Kew Gardens Hills, Queens[2] bersama kedua ibu bapanya, Sylvia and Morty Drescher. Drescher memasuki Sekolah Tinggi Hillcrest di Jamaica, Queens, di mana beliau mula-mula bertemu dengan suami yang dikahwininya pada 1978, Peter Marc Jacobson, ketika berusia 21 tahun.[3]

Beliau mula berlakon menerusi Saturday Night Fever (1977).

Drescher mengahwini rakan sekolah tingginya, Peter Marc Jacobson pada tahun 1978. Jacobson merupakan penulis, pengarah dan penerbit The Nanny. Mereka tinggal berasingan pada tahun 1996 dan secara rasminya bercerai pada tahun 1999.

Drescher dimasukkan ke Hospital Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles pada 21 Jun 2000 setelah doktor mengesan barah rahim dalam tubuhnya. Beliau bernasib baik kerana barah tersebut dapat dikesan pada peringkat 1 (peringkat awal; tidak berbahaya) yang hanya memerlukan pembedahan dan tidak memerlukan kemoterapi. Beliau menulis pengalamannya di dalam buku keduanya, Cancer Schmancer.
