Istana kota Cardiff
Istana kota Cardiff (Wales: Castell Caerdydd ) adalah sebuah istana kota Zaman Pertengahan bercirikan rekabentuk kebangkita semula Victoria-Gothic yang terletak di pusat bandar Cardiff, Wales. motte dan bailey pada istana kota asal telah dibina pada akhir kurun ke-11 oleh para penceroboh Norman di atas sebuah kubu Rom yang dibina pada kurun ke-3. Istana kota ini telah dirasmikan sama ada oleh William si Penakluk atau Robert Fitzhamon, dan menjadi nadi kepada bandar Cardiff dan wilayah Lord Marcher di Glamorgan pada zaman Pertengahan. Pada kurun ke-12, istana kota ini dibina semula dengan menggunakan batu-batan, berkemungkinan oleh Robert dari Gloucester, dengan penambahan sebuah shell keep dan kubu pertahanan. Kerja selanjutnya dilakukan oleh Earl Gloucester ke-6 pada separuh kedua kurun ke-13. Istana kota Cardiff berulang kali terlibat dalam konflik antara orang Anglo-Norman dan Welsh, telah diserang beberapa kali pada kurun ke-12, dan diserbu masuk pada tahun 1404 semasa pemberontakan Owain Glyndŵr.
