Berlatarkan tahun 1882 di barat Amerika Syarikat, Albert adalah seorang petani hina dengan teman wanita cantik. Tetapi apabila dia meninggalkannya untuk pemilik kedai misai yang lebih kacak dan berjaya, Albert kembali ke kehidupan harian yang sepi cuba untuk mengelakkan kematian.
