Penerbitan akademik

Penerbitan akademik ialah subbidang penerbitan yang mengedarkan penyelidikan akademik dan kesarjanaan. Kebanyakan karya akademik diterbitkan dalam artikel jurnal akademik, buku atau tesis. Bahagian keluaran bertulis akademik yang tidak diterbitkan secara rasmi tetapi hanya dicetak atau disiarkan di Internet sering dipanggil "sastera kelabu". Kebanyakan jurnal saintifik dan ilmiah, dan banyak buku akademik dan ilmiah, walaupun tidak semuanya, adalah berdasarkan beberapa bentuk ulasan sejawat atau pengadil editorial untuk melayakkan teks untuk diterbitkan. Piawaian kualiti semakan rakan sebaya dan selektiviti sangat berbeza dari jurnal ke jurnal, penerbit ke penerbit dan medan ke medan.[1][2][3]
