Alkaloid
Alkaloid ialah sekumpulan sebatian kimia yang terjadi secara semula jadi yang kebanyakannya mengandungi atom nitrogen bes. Kumpulan ini juga mengandungi sesetengah sebatian berkaitan dengan ciri neutral[2] dan juga ciri asid lemak.[3] Sesetengah sebatian sintetik dengan struktur serupa juga dianggap sebagai alkaloid.[4] Sebagai tambahan kepada karbon, hidrogen dan nitrogen, alkaloid juga boleh mengandungi oksigen, belerang dan lebih jarang unsur lain seperti klorin, bromin, dan fosforus.[5]
