James McAvoy (; lahir 21 April 1979) ialah seorang pelakon Scotland. Beliau membuat kerjaya lakonan sebagai remaja di The Near Room (1995) dan membuat kebanyakan penampilan televisyen hingga tahun 2003, ketika kerjaya filemnya bermula. Hasil kerja televisyen yang terkenal termasuk State Play[1] dan Frank Herbert's Children of Dune. Beliau telah mempersembahkan beberapa penerbitan West End dan menerima tiga pencalonan untuk Anugerah Laurence Olivier untuk Pelakon Lelaki Terbaik, dan juga telah menyumbangkan suara untuk filem animasi termasuk Gnomeo & Juliet, susulannya, Sherlock Gnomes, dan Arthur Christmas.[2]
