Senarai pengembara angkasa mengikut nama
Ini ialah senarai kesemua pengembara angkasa, mengikut abjad. Kriteria untuk menentukan siapakah yang mencapai penerbangan angkasa manusia berbeza-beza:
- Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) mentakrifkan penerbangan angkasa sebagai mana-mana penerbangan yang melebihi 100 kilometer (62 batu), suatu takrif yang diiktiraf oleh setiap negara.
- Kementerian Pertahanan Amerika Syarikat menganugerahkan taraf angkasawan kepada semua juruterbang, baik tentera mahupun awam, yang terbang melebihi 50 batu (80 kilometer) tingginya sejak 1960-an.[1] Justera, tujuh juruterbang USAF dan NASA daripada Kementerian Pertahanan Amerika Syarikat melayakkan diri untuk menerima Lencana Angkasawan kerana menerbangkan kapal angkasa lepas roket X-15 suborbit.[1]
Kesemua lelaki dan wanita yang lain dalam senarai ini belayar dengan menggunakan roket tanpa sayap atau bolak-balik angkasa lepas orbital, kecuali dua juruterbang ujian Amerika Syarikat yang memasuki ruang angkasa lepas melalui kapal angkasa lepas roket SpaceShipOne Komposit Terskala suborbit.[1] Nama mereka yang maut sewaktu menjalani latihan untuk penerbangan angkasa lepas atau maut dalam misi yang gagal mencapai ketinggian yang diperlukan, misalnya Christa McAuliffe, boleh didapati dalam rencana bencana angkasa lepas. Senarai ini menepati kriteria FAI.
Menjelang 16 November 2009, sebanyak 510 orang dari 38 negara telah memasuki ruang angkasa lepas mengikut garis panduan FAI (516 orang melayakkan diri apabila pengelasan Kementerian Pertahanan Amerika Syarikat dimasukkan). Antara kesemua ini:
- 3 orang hanya melakukan penerbangan suborbit;
- 507 orang mencapai orbit Bumi;
- 24 orang belayar melewati orbit Bumi rendah; dan
- 12 orang berjalan di atas Bulan.
Pada keseluruhannya, pengembara angkasa telah menghabiskan 29,000 orang-hari (iaitu melebihi 77 tahun) di ruang angkasa, termasuk melebihi 100 orang-hari perjalanan kaki (di ruang angkasa).[2]
